OPENWORTHY SOFTWARE LICENCE

Copyright (c) 2026 The OpenWorthy Authors. All rights reserved.

This licence is an agreement between you and the authors of OpenWorthy
("we", "us") about your use of the OpenWorthy software, including its
desktop app, command-line program, installers, container images and updates
(the "Software"). By installing or using the Software you accept these
terms. If you do not accept them, do not install or use it.

1. WHAT YOU MAY DO

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide licence to
install and use the Software, for personal or business purposes, on any
number of computers that you own or control.

2. FREE AND PRO

The Software's Free features may be used without payment.

Its Pro features need a valid licence key, issued by us when you buy Pro.
A Pro licence covers every version line of the Software that began on or
before the date shown in your licence, including every later fix
released for those lines, for as long as you use them. A founder licence
covers every version, for the life of OpenWorthy. The pricing page on
our website describes the plans in detail.

3. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO

You may not, and may not help others to:
   (a) move, change, disable or circumvent the licence-key check, or modify
       the Software to give access to Pro features without a valid key;
   (b) copy, modify, adapt or create derivative works of the Software,
       except as needed to install and use it;
   (c) reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except to
       the extent that applicable law permits this despite this term;
   (d) sell, rent, lend, sublicense or distribute the Software, or offer it
as a service to others, except by passing on our unmodified official
       installers and download links; or
   (e) share, publish or sell licence keys.

4. THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE

The Software includes open-source components, listed with their licences
in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt. Those components are licensed to you under
their own licences, which prevail over this licence for those components.

5. YOUR DATA

The Software runs on your computer. It reads the headers of your email
directly from your mail provider and stores what it learns only on your
computer. Nothing about you or your mail is sent to us. The Software
checks for updates by downloading a public file from our website, which
you can switch off. Buying Pro takes place in your web browser on our
payment provider's pages, under their terms and privacy policy.

6. UPDATES AND SUPPORT

We may release updates to fix problems or add features. Fixes are
released for the newest version line; security fixes are also released
for the previous version line for twelve months after the newest line
begins. Pro and founder licences include support by email.

7. IF OPENWORTHY IS DISCONTINUED

If we stop developing OpenWorthy, we will publish a final release in
which every Pro feature is available without a licence key.

8. PURCHASES, RENEWALS AND REFUNDS

Pro is sold by our reseller, Paddle, who is the merchant of record for
every purchase. Prices, renewals, cancellation and refunds are governed
by the terms shown at checkout and on our website. Cancelling a renewal
never removes what you have already paid for (section 2).

9. NO WARRANTY

The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express
or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a
particular purpose and non-infringement. The Software adds and removes
its own marker on your email and never deletes or moves messages, but
you are responsible for your own backups and for how you use it.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any
indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of
data, profits or business, arising from the Software or this licence.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us
for the Software in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in this
licence limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights
as a consumer that cannot be waived.

11. ENDING THIS LICENCE

This licence ends automatically if you break its terms. When it ends
you must stop using the Software and delete your copies. Sections 4
and 9 to 12 continue to apply.

12. GENERAL

If any part of this licence is found unenforceable, the rest remains in
effect. This licence is the whole agreement between you and us about the
Software, alongside any terms you accept when buying Pro. We may publish
a new version of this licence with a new version of the Software; the
licence shipped with each version applies to that version.
