How to flag important emails automatically
Hand-written rules (“if from boss@, flag”) break the moment someone new matters. A better signal is what you already do: who you write to, which conversations you’re in, which mail is addressed to you alone.
OpenWorthy turns exactly those facts into a Worth Reading marker:
- Gmail: a label, next to (and independent of) Gmail’s own Important — whether you sign in with Google or use an app password. If you read Gmail in Apple Mail or iPhone Mail, which don’t show labels, you can choose the star instead.
- Outlook / Microsoft 365: a category, visible in every Outlook app.
- iCloud, Fastmail, Yahoo, your own server: the standard flag (a star in most apps; green in Apple Mail and iPhone Mail where the server keeps flag colours, so it stands apart from your own flags).
Because it’s an ordinary label, flag or category, it works in your mail app, on your phone, and in any smart folder or search you build on it.
Getting started takes a few minutes: download the app, connect your email, look at the preview of what it would mark, and press Start. Install
